Product Owner at Datactics with over 3 years Data Engineering and Product Management experience across a range of FinTech and GovTech projects. I studied at Queen’s University Belfast graduating with a BSc in Mathematics with Statistics and Operational Research.   

Most of my data engineering experience originates from the role as Release Manager of a complex government project that involved building a sophisticated crime classification application which is in use by all police forces in England and Wales. The application reduces the manual labour previously endured by police force users when reviewing the crimes recorded in their system by automating the crime classification of records. The automated process is built following the government crime classification guidance defined by the crime analysis unit. Users are then only presented with a small percentage of records to resolve with any changes to the crime classification of the record being automatically updated in the source system. The application ensures a standard of good quality crime reporting across the UK to enable the capturing of accurate crime statistics by the Office of National Statistics.

Using the same Datactics technologies as the crime classification application, I was Lead Data Engineer in the development of a large-scale corporate matching engine. The system was designed for users to submit legal entity information, such as name and address details, and have all possible matches to records in their source system returned within seconds. The workflow used a combination of deterministic and machine learning matching approaches.
