Hans Ebbers has been a police officer since 1980 and was a member of the special forces SEK from 1989 to 2018. Between 1992 and 2018, Hans Ebbers was also a trainer for self-defence and tactics in the special forces.

Hans Ebbers was an active dog handler for special forces from 2000 to2018 and has been a trainer for special forces service dogs in the field of protection work, hard surface tracking dogs and explosives detection dogs since 2007.

From 2008 to 2018, he was a judge for police dogs and responsible for training and further education of all service dogs of the special forces in North Rhine-Westphalia.
From 2013 to 2018, Hans Ebbers trained dogs for the covert search and covert indication on persons for explosives in the field of terror.

Hans Ebbers gives seminars, further education and training for police, customs and military in various countries. These include Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, China, Finland, Italy and the USA.

Hans Ebbers is also active in the sporting dog sector in his private life. He is a performance judge for sporting dogs and competes with his dogs in the IGP section. He is also active as a judge for the DVG.
Hans Ebbers is an employee of Kynoscience UG.

He has been a certified dog trainer of the Lower Saxony Chamber of Veterinary Surgeons since 2014 and has been working at the Münster police department since 2018.

In 2018, he left the police dog service of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia and now works in the police department in Münster.

Hans Ebbers trained corona detection dogs together with the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover and the German Service Dog School of the Bundeswehr since 2020. The knowledge gained from this has been published in many studies.

In the summer of 2021, Hans trained the first Corona detection dogs for Rwanda to be used at the airport in Kigali.
