Ricky Sandhu is the Founder and CEO of small. (Six Miles Across London Ltd) a design-led, deep and green technology group, building a Zero-Emission Mobility (ZEM) ecosystem, currently transforming cities across the UK and disrupting existing mobility sectors across road, rail and air.

The group including Urban-Air Port© Ltd, Urban.AV Ltd, and Urban.MASS Ltd design, develop, manufacture and distribute sustainable transportation products around the world as infrastructure-as-a-service solutions providing full turn-key integrated solutions both physically and digitally.

Ricky has over twenty years’ experience at some of the world’s most advanced and cutting edge design and technology companies, including over sixteen years at Foster + Partners, as one of the youngest equity Partners, with extensive experience on large scale urban transformation programmes including: one of Europe’s largest construction projects in the centre of Stockholm ¬– Project Slussen; major sustainability driven airport developments across the UK and Middle East; to most recently innovative infrastructure solutions including the UK’s first net zero charging station for electric vehicles in Braintree. 2020 concluded with Ricky leading his Urban.AV team to advance his fully driverless, electric and autonomous vehicle (UrbanPodPro) programme, titled “ASCENT”, in collaboration with the Greater Cambridge Partnership and Cambridge Science Park.

With entrepreneurial innovation and the drive to build-back-better, Ricky uniquely combines state of the art design with deep and green technology to improve the quality of the built environment and protect our habitat from climate change. Ricky was selected as one of the top eleven UK entrepreneurs and scale-ups on the Mayor of London’s International Business Programme 2020 and again as one of only nine entrepreneurs on the PriceWaterHouseCoopers (PwC) Scale programme 2021, providing unique access to global markets via unparalleled and formidable reach.

Recognised by the UK Government’s Research & Innovation (UKRI) fund and the UK’s Business Energy Industrial Strategy (BEIS) Dept, responsible for new, clean tech industry advancement, Ricky led his team at Urban-Air Port© Ltd to secure a £1.2m UK Government grant for funding the worlds first off-grid, fully electric airport, to be showcased later this year and has forged pioneering relationships with leading UK cities and major global brands, including the Hyundai Motor Group, through a long-term strategic and priority partnership.
