Dr. Syed Sibte Hadi is a Professor of Forensic Genetics & Medicine at Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. He is the President of Arab Society of Forensic Sciences and Forensic Medicine. He is also the Chief Editor of the journal of the Arab Society of Forensic Sciences and Forensic Medicine. He is also an editor for the Nature group journal Scientific Reports and International Journal of Medical Justice.

Prof. Hadi is a forensic scientist, researcher and academic in Forensic Medicine & Forensic Genetics with over 30 years of experience. He was initially trained in Forensic Medicine after his graduation in Medicine in Pakistan. He completed his PhD with Prof. Peter Vanezis at Glasgow university. He then worked in the USA and set up a successful sequencing laboratory for the Louisiana Healthy Ageing group. Then he went back to the UK and worked at the University of Central Lancashire where he developed a very popular master’s program in Forensic DNA Profiling. He was also a member of the working group that developed Lancashire Forensic Academy which is playing a key role in forensic education in the UK. He is one of the initial members of International Society of Forensic Genetics. He is also a life member of Pakistan medicolegal Society and is a member of British Association of Human Identification and International Association of Identification.  He is experienced in managing forensic provisions, forensic training and forensic laboratory quality assurance processes. Prof. Hadi is a ISO17025 technical expert and technical assessor for United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS). He has assessed forensic laboratories and processes in all the forensic genetics laboratories the UK and a few in other countries for the purposes of accreditation.

Prof. Hadi has played a great role in conceptualizing, developing, and delivering undergraduate and post graduate forensic courses at various universities in the UK, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. He has supervised 14 PhD/MPhil students and over 70 masters’ students for their research projects.

Prof. Hadi has published over 60 refereed papers, co-authored a book on Forensic genetics and has contributed several book chapters. He has an interest in studying Middle Eastern populations for forensic purposes and has already investigated the ancestry of a few Middle Eastern populations.  He is now focusing further research on Forensic DNA Phenotyping using various sequencing technologies including whole genome sequencing.
