As Executive Assistant Director of the Intelligence Branch, Ryan T. Young serves as the strategic leader of the FBI’s Intelligence Program and drives collaboration to achieve the full integration of intelligence and operations throughout the organization. He engages with FBI partners in the intelligence, law enforcement, private-sector, academia, and faith-based communities to develop and maintain relationships and ensures timely information-sharing to help mitigate risk and threats.

Mr. Young previously served as the Assistant Director of the Directorate of Intelligence (DI), where he was responsible for the oversight and direction of the FBI’s Intelligence Program, human intelligence program, intelligence technology, and foreign language program.

As Special Agent in Charge of the Counterterrorism Division in the Los Angeles field office in 2018, he directed the FBI's second largest Joint Terrorism Task Force responsible for all international and domestic terrorism investigations in Los Angeles, encompassing seven counties with approximately 20M persons, and the extraterritorial investigations across Southeast Asia. Mr. Young also managed critical incidents including the Evidence Response team, the Special Agent Bomb Technicians, Special Weapons and Tactics, crisis negotiation, the Rapid Mobility team, and the Underwater Search and Evidence Response teams.

In 2016, Mr. Young served as Section Chief of the DI’s Strategic Technology Section where he led the Strategic Technology Section and was responsible for the integration of the enterprise’s analytical systems and social media exploitation. In 2015, he was the Assistant Special Agent in Charge of the Dallas field office for the Intelligence and Administrative Branches where he oversaw all intelligence matters, human resources, evidence, procurement, foreign language, and human intelligence programs. Mr. Young was selected as the Assistant Section Chief and FBI lead for the President’s Counter ISIL Strategy in 2014 and was responsible for an interagency task force during a time that was considered the highest terrorist threat period since 9/11. In 2012, he was the Unit Chief of the Internal Policy Office where he managed the coordination, review, approval, publication, and promulgation of FBI policies.
